First up - Alaska!

Well, 2026 didn't get off to the start we wanted...thanks to the flu.  

The studio caught it, and things slowed to a crawl.  But the good news is that it's all behind us, the bad news is that we're about a week late in launching our 50 States project. But better late than never!

So for our first State artwork for 2026 Tricia and I randomly decided to start with the last State to join the Union, Alaska! 

We've never been to Alaska, but we do have many customers there, and since we're big fans of wild caught Salmon (and we've never done a Chinook Salmon before) this artwork was a no-brainer.

Tricia came up with a paint pattern and style that not only evokes the natural beauty of a King Salmon, but also the natural beauty of the Northern Lights and rugged terrain of the mountains, and the blue of the Alaskan State Flag is the perfect backdrop.
